Apollonian individuation

In alchemy, the Ouroboros is a purifying sigil . Swiss psychologist Carl Jung saw the Ouroboros as an archetype and the basic mandala of alchemy. Jung also defined the relationship of the Ouroboros to
alchemy:

The alchemists, who in their own way knew more about the nature of the individuation process than we moderns do,expressed this paradox through the symbol of the Ouroboros, the snake that eats its own tail.

The Ouroboros has been said to have a meaning of infinity or wholeness.
In the age-old image of the Ouroboros lies the thought of devouring oneself and turning oneself into a circulatory process, for it was clear to the more astute alchemists that the prima materia of the art was man himself. The Ouroboros is a dramatic symbol for the integration and assimilation of the opposite, i.e. of the shadow. This 'feed-back' process is at the same time a symbol of immortality, since it is said of the Ouroboros that he slays himself and brings himself to life, fertilizes himself and gives birth to himself. He symbolizes the One, who proceeds from the clash of opposites, and he therefore constitutes the secret of the prima materia which [...] unquestionably stems from man's unconscious.

Τι είναι λοιπόν το individuation:

Friedrich Nietzsche offers an extensive discussion of the tension between impartial, chaotic fluidity and individuated subjectivity in The Birth of Tragedy (1872), whereby Dionysian dismemberment and Apollonian individuation respectively embody these dichotomous qualities. Nietzsche claims that the perpetual, irresolvable tension between these two opposing aspects of nature fosters the conditions necessary for their uneasy synthesis in the creation of tragic art.

According to Jungian psychology, individuation is a process of psychological integration, having for its goal the development of the individual personality. "In general, it is the process by which individual beings are formed and differentiated [from other human beings]; in particular, it is the development of the psychological individual as a being distinct from the general, collective psychology."

Individuation is a process of transformation whereby the personal and collective unconscious is brought into consciousness (by means of dreams, active imagination or free association to take some examples) to be assimilated into the whole personality. It is a completely natural process necessary for the integration of the psyche to take place. Individuation has a holistic healing effect on the person, both mentally and physically.

Besides achieving physical and mental health, people who have advanced towards individuation tend to be harmonious, mature and responsible. They embody humane values such as freedom and justice and have a good understanding about the workings of human nature and the universe.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ouroboros

Plato described a self-eating, circular being as the first living thing in the universe—an immortal, perfectly constructed animal.

By scientists the Ouroboros may be viewed as a symbol for the flow of energy and entropy in living beings.

In computers the Ouroboros may represent a circular dependency. In particular a routing misconfiguration, where a tunnel traffic is trying to route over the tunnel itself.

In alchemy, the Ouroboros is a purifying sigil. Swiss psychologist Carl Jung saw the Ouroboros as an archetype and the basic mandala of alchemy. Jung also defined the relationship of the Ouroboros to alchemy:

The alchemists, who in their own way knew more about the nature of the individuation process than we moderns do,expressed this paradox through the symbol of the Ouroboros, the snake that eats its own tail. The Ouroboros has been said to have a meaning of infinity or wholeness. The god Quetzalcoatl is sometimes portrayed as an Ouroboros on Aztec and Toltec ruins.

The famous Ouroboros drawing from the early alchemical text The Chrysopoeia of Cleopatra dating to 2nd century Alexandria encloses the words hen to pan, "one is the all". Its black and white halves represent the Gnostic duality of existence.

In Egyptian mythology, Apep (also spelled Apepi, and Aapep, or Apophis in Greek) was an evil demon, the deification of darkness and chaos (isfet in Egyptian), and thus opponent of light and Ma'at (order/truth), whose existence was believed from the Middle Kingdom onwards.

The wide range of Apep's possible location gained him the title World Encircler. It was thought that his terrifying roar would cause the underworld to rumble.

The serpent grew so big that he was able to surround the Earth and grasp his own tail. When he lets go the world will end. As a result he earned the alternate name of the Midgard Serpent or World Serpent. Jörmungandr's arch enemy is the god Thor.

Law Of Entropy in Hindu MYTHOLOGY !.

Hinduism holds that once the Universe was more pure and free of sin, and as the Yugas (Time cycles) progress, the condition of the Universe deteriorates more and more, until at the end of the last Yuga- the Kali Yuga (which is linked with disorder) the state of disorder will reach an apex and then God will come and purge the world of all sin and destruction.

Almost all the religions throughout the world also describe disorder is increasing and that on a final Judgment day (or doomsday)- God will come to cleanse the world of Evil. The Bible has several verses that imply disorder is always on the increase (contrasting with ideas of Civilization, progress and development.) The Law of Entropy" is the second law of thermodynamics: every reaction, physical or chemical, in this Universe goes forward only if it attains a state of more disorder. By definition entropy is the measure of disorder of a system. For example, the evaporation of water to vapor or melting of ice to liquid leads to more ‘disorder’ among water molecules, which were once tightly packed together but are now more separated and disarranged.

In other words, with forward movement of time, entropy of the Universe increases. This is what is implied in mentioning that the Universe is always moving towards disorder until it reaches a state of maximal entropy.
